History Chapalac 

The Chapalac, iconic jacket from Maison CHAPAL. 

Back in 1968, the key year when CHAPAL accompanied the Olympic Winter Games in Grenoble, manufacturing the hostesses’ outfits.
At the same time, the Chapalac was created and became the jacket that inscribed motorsport in the image of the House.
Among its ambassadors: Jean-Pierre Beltoise, Henri Pescarolo, François Cevert, emblematic Formula 1 drivers and loyal friends of Pierre Bardinon, seventh generation of the family.

With the 2024 Paris Olympics Games approaching, Jean-François Bardinon, current President and Artistic Director, pays tribute to this mythical jacket and decides to put it back on the scene.
Originally made from rabbit skins, he now offers it in sheep lacquered leather. 

The Chapalac is in its original colors – black, red, blue, yellow, orange – with seventies influences.
Its contrasting stripes and hood ensure a resolutely sporty style.
It is now reinterpreted with a whipcord lining sublimated with embroideries reflecting the key elements of its history.
Its embroidered logo on the left shoulder – Lapin de France – inspired some iconic car brands of the time.

This retro jacket has the ability to cross generations and still dresses car or fashion enthusiasts.
