History USAAF Hudson Blue
This version of the iconic USAAF flight jacket was created in tribute to the Maison’s American roots.
As early as 1882, Emile Chapal crossed the Atlantic to expand the family business in the United States and introduce French craftsmanship there. He chose Brooklyn to establish CHAPAL’s activities and developed a process that reproduced, using rabbit skins imported from France, the silky fur of the Hudson Bay sea otter.
This success led the House to develop several production sites in New York, encompassing tanning, felt manufacturing and hat making.
Today, Jean-François Bardinon, the eighth generation of the family, revives the American heritage through the creation of this USAAF jacket named “Hudson Blue”.
