History USAAF Caulaincourt
The USAAF model is a symbiosis of the US Air Force Type A2 and the US Navy Type G1 jackets of the Second World War.
It is commonly renowned as “Flight Jacket” and remains the most copied jacket by all manufacturers.
This limited edition is a new interpretation of this iconic model: a unique patina created by CAULAINCOURT using liquid inks specially developed for leather. The iteration of layers, coloring and bleaching, gives a natural effect. Each dye is the result of a very specific mixture.
The origins of the jacket are fully acknowledged in the creative additions it features. They recall the illustrations of American squadrons painted on flying machines and GI jackets ; and later, the jackets of ’50s biker gangs such as Hell’s Angels, with a winged skull and crossbones and a biker helmet on the back, topped by the name of the town or local chapter as a sign of recognition.
This model is originally available in brown leather, but can also be ordered in other colors from the CHAPAL collection.
