TIMELESS ESCAPE WITH SYLVAIN TESSON
On the occasion of its 190th anniversary, CHAPAL looks back on its history and origins,
which have been built on the automotive and the aviation industry, and even The Adventure.
For several years, the actual President and Artistic Director, Jean-François Bardinon, relays memories of these great men
– aviators or drivers – through the iconic jackets he designs and creates in great respect for authenticity.
Both visionary and conservative, Jean-François expresses his audacity by reappropriating these original pieces
and adapting them to the needs of intrepid modern adventurers.
Among them : Sylvain Tesson and his acolytes, long-time friends of the House, embodying this generation of connoisseurs and praising the authenticity and quality of CHAPAL leather.

To celebrate this anniversary year, CHAPAL is proud and happy to have collaborated with the adventurers once again on a poetic and contemplative roadtrip to the Middle East “Following Lawrence of Arabia’s tracks”.
The robustness of the leather of the Blouson Anglais, A2 and G1 jackets allowed the three adventurers to cross several miles on the tracks of Jordan, Syria and Lebanon on their amazing Yamaha Ténéré 700, searching for lost fortresses and castles in the desert.

Grateful for the trust Sylvain Tesson has placed in CHAPAL over the years, it is with honour that the House will continue to follow the writer in his next adventures.
Since 1832, CHAPAL has been travelling the World through its savoir-faire, its creativity and its passion for the people behind it.
190 years have elapsed and acknowledgement has not faded.
