D1
Varnished shearling
Brass zip fasteners – Riri
One inside pocket in suede leather
History D1
Winter jacket D1 in varnished shearling, introduced by the Army Air Corp in the mid-1930s, as a cold-weather jacket originally designed for mechanics working on aircraft.
Although intended for ground crews, the D1 was also conceived as part of a two-piece winter suit, its companion garment being the B1 trousers.
This bomber preserves the historical spirit of early military aviation garments by featuring two side pockets with brass zip fastener, which made it popular not only with ground crews but also with airmen themselves.
This model is crafted from second-grade sheepskin, in order to make full of use of each hide as part of an upcycling approach. For further details regarding the characteristics of the shearling used, please contact us before placing your order.
